What is exosome microneedling?

Microneedling uses a sterile, single-use needle cartridge to create thousands of controlled micro-channels in the skin. Your body responds by producing new collagen and elastin, which gradually improves fine lines, acne scars, enlarged pores and uneven texture. Every treatment here uses SkinPen® Precision, which the FDA cleared in 2018 as the first microneedling device authorized for marketing in the United States.

Right after microneedling, we apply BENEV® Exosome Regenerative Complex, a professional topical serum that BENEV describes as a blend of lyophilized exosomes, growth factors, peptides, amino acids and vitamins. The serum supports hydration and comfort while your skin recovers.

Are exosomes FDA approved?

No. The FDA has not approved any exosome product to treat a disease or medical condition, and it has warned consumers about clinics that inject exosomes or market them as cures. We never inject exosomes. We use them only as a topical cosmetic serum on the skin’s surface during microneedling. The device itself, SkinPen®, is FDA-cleared.

Exosome Microneedling FAQs

Plan for about one hour in the office. We apply a topical numbing cream for 25 to 30 minutes before the SkinPen® treatment, then finish with the exosome serum.

You’ll start noticing improvements within a few days, with full results developing over several weeks as collagen rebuilds. Results can last 6-12 months, depending on how many treatments you complete and how well you care for your skin.

Most clients book a series of three to four sessions spaced four to six weeks apart, then a maintenance session every six to twelve months. This spacing gives your skin time to heal and build collagen between treatments. We tailor the plan to your skin at your consultation.

Most clients feel a light scratching or vibrating sensation. We apply topical numbing for 25 to 30 minutes first, and comfort levels vary from person to person.

Expect redness and mild swelling for 24 to 48 hours, similar to a sunburn, followed by dryness or light flaking for a few days. Most people return to work the next day. Avoid strenuous exercise and sun exposure for 72 hours, and other facial treatments for one month.

Both use the same SkinPen® treatment. Microneedling with PRP uses growth factors from your own blood, drawn and processed during the visit. Exosome microneedling uses a ready-made topical serum, so no blood draw is needed. Clients who prefer to avoid a needle in the arm usually choose exosomes; clients who want an entirely autologous treatment choose PRP.

Is Exosome Microneedling Right for You?

Microneedling is not right for you if you have an active skin infection or cold sore, active breakouts or open lesions, a history of keloid scarring, a weakened immune system, or are undergoing chemotherapy or radiation. Wait six months after your last dose of oral isotretinoin (Accutane), and tell us if you are pregnant or breastfeeding.
